Installation view, Atelier Hermès, Seoul, 2008
The first work by PARKing CHANce (a team of directors formed by Park Chan-wook and Park Chan-Kyong), Night Fishing is a short film that adopts the gut (an exorcism in the Korean shamanist tradition) as its subject matter. The leads are played by actors Lee Jung-hyun and Oh Kwang-rok, with musical contributions by the UhUhBoo Band (led by Jang Young-gyu and Baik Hyun-jin). The first example of a theatrical feature filmed entirely by smartphone, Night Fishing has won awards at numerous film festivals, including the Golden Bear for short film at the 2011 Berlin International Film Festival.
